DSE CEO to step down
Chief executive officer (CEO) of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) AFM Shariful Islam has decided to resign.
He submitted his resignation letter to the acting president of the DSE yesterday, officials said.
Saiful Islam, acting president of the premier bourse, confirmed the submission of the CEO's resignation letter.
In the letter, the CEO mentioned personal reasons for his resignation from the post with effect from September 1 this year.
Shariful was appointed CEO of the bourse on March 1 this year. Earlier, he was serving the DSE as its acting CEO from January to February this year. He also served as chief operating officer for the exchange from September 2008 to December 2008.
