'Desco to repair substations soon after calls'
Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited (Desco) would repair or re-install any electric substations and damaged devices of the subscribers immediately without formal procedures at initial stage, says a press release.
“No official process would be required immediately for this service. Subscribers would maintain all processes, including payment after the renovation,” said Desco Managing Director (MD) Saleh Ahmed while addressing a view exchange meeting with subscribers at Uttara Desco office yesterday.
Saleh said the Desco authorities would repair or re-install substations and any damaged machinery immediately based on the subscribers' needs.
On subscribers' proposal of sending information of load-shedding through SMSs, the Desco MD said proper steps would be taken after examining the matter.
He said Desco, a government enterprise, would organise view exchange meetings with subscribers every month in different areas in a bid to deliver quality service.
Top Desco officials, including Director (technical) Md Manzur Rahman, Director (finance) Kudrat-e-Khuda and General Manager Md Shahjahan Mia also took part in the meeting.
In a bid to develop its services, Desco subscribers in Uttara area provided a number of suggestions including setting up of voice recorders in Desco complaint centres to monitor whether subscribers' complaints are being solved immediately, cutting illegal power connections and banning welding works during pick hours.
