Liam Neeson may join cast of A-Team film
Liam Neeson has long been an A-list actor, but he may soon be part of the A-Team as well.
The 57-year-old is currently in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to star as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith in a bigscreen adaptation of the 80s cult classic, "The A-Team," reports Variety.
Production for the film would begin in August with a tentative release set for June 11, 2010.
Along with other top Hollywood moguls, like producer Ridley Scott and director Joe Carnahan, being on board, actor Bradley Cooper is also in early talks to play Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck.
But there's no word yet on who will play Sgt. "B.A." Baracus -- the role that made Mr. T a pop icon.
Neeson, fresh off the back of the global success of "Taken," also recently completed two other films, "Chloe" and "Clash of the Titans."
Cooper, on the other hand, has established himself as a box office hit thanks to his recent starring role in "The Hangover" and is set to play the title role opposite Sandra Bullock in "All About Steve."
While director Carnahan and Fox have decided to keep the general premise of the series -- four war vets who escape from prison to become mercenary do-gooders -- they've decided to remove the sillier aspects of the show, creating a mood closer to "Ocean's 11" or "Mission Impossible."
