280 cops leave for Sudan to join UN mission
Two more contingents of 280 police personnel left for Sudan on Wednesday and Friday to join the UN peacekeeping mission in Darfur.
Of them, 140 members of police left Dhaka on Friday night by a chartered flight of UN. And 140 other members left Dhaka on Wednesday.
Superintendents of Police (SPs) Lutfur Rahman Mondol and Debdash Bhattacharya led the two contingents, says a press release of the Police Headquarters.
At present, a total of 1,062 police members are working in different UN missions across the world.
