JRSSP celebrates Tagore birth anniversary in Barisal and Magura
To mark the 148th birth anniversary of Tagore, Jatiya Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad (JRSSP), Barisal unit, arranged a daylong programme recently. The event included songs, poems, dances, plays, discussion and speech competition. A prize giving ceremony followed at the Barisal Aswini Kumar Hall premises.
Cultural personality Nikhil Sen inaugurated the programme.
Professor Md. Hanif was the chief guest at the concluding programme. Nazrul Islam Chunnu, president of JRSSP, Barisal presided over the event.
Kajol Ghose, convenor of the celebration committee, gave the welcome address.
The speakers at the programme said, an extraordinary talent, Tagore will continue to inspire generations to come.
Tagore's works were a source of constant inspiration in all movements, thoughts and creativity of the Bengali nation, the speakers said.

Jatiya Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad (JRSSP), Magura observed the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore at Asaduzzaman auditorium on May 22. A cultural programme featuring rendition of popular Tagore songs, recitation of poems and dance marked the event. The programme commenced with a choral rendition by the artistes of Magura JRSSP.
Artistes of JRSSP's Faridpur, Kushtia, Rajshahi and Jessore units rendered songs while members of Udichi Shilpi Goshthi performed dance at the programme.
