Veteran journo Shamsuddin ill
ATM Shamsuddin, a veteran journalist and language movement hero, is seriously ill.
He has been admitted to Samorita Hospital in the city following brain haemorrhage.
He is now under the treatment of medicine specialist Dr MN Alam.
Shamsuddin is now 84.
He worked in Sangbad, Ittefaq and went into retirement after serving as senior assistant editor of Janakantha.
He was imprisoned during the BNP rule in 1994.
Shamsuddin was the general secretary of the then East Pakistan Journalists Union.
During the language movement he played an important role as a member of Chittagong All Party Language Movement Committee.
His relatives have urged people to pray for his recovery.
