Toni promises Italian holiday to Werder
Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni has promised to buy a holiday in Italy for the players of Werder Bremen if they beat Bayern's German title rivals Wolfsburg on the final day of the season on Saturday.
"If it could be a motivation for them, I am ready to offer the Werder Bremen players a holiday in Italy this summer," Toni, an Italian international, told German daily tz on Wednesday.
"They'd have the opportunity to really have fun," added Toni, who was the top scorer in the German first division last season and who has netted 14 league goals this term.
Going into the final day of the season, Bayern are two points behind leaders Wolfsburg in second place.
Toni, a World Cup winner with Italy in 2006, has already made one eye-catching promise this season, having vowed to run naked through the middle of Munich if Bayern won the Champions League.
The pledge captured the imagination of Bayern's female fanbase, but Toni's modesty was spared when the Bavarian giants were dumped out of the competition in the quarterfinals by eventual finalists Barcelona.
