PM performs umrah

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina performed umrah here Tuesday midnight and offered prayer seeking divine blessings for the people of Bangladesh and peace and prosperity of the entire Muslim Ummah.
Hasina performed 'tawaf' around the holy Ka'ba at 12:35pm (local time) and ran between Safa and Marwa. She later offered the prayer.
Earlier, the premier arrived at Jeddah from Riyadh by a special aircraft. Prince Khalid Al Faisal, governor of Makkah, received Hasina on her arrival in Jeddah.
From Jeddah, she went to Makkah by road at 11:45pm.
The prime minister is scheduled to stay in Makkah yesterday and offer prayer at the Haram Sharif.
