Motor Sramik League factions clash at Lalmonirhat

At least five people were injured as two factions of Motor Sramik League workers clashed each other over establishing supremacy at Lalmonirhat bus terminal yesterday noon.
The injured workers are bus driver Nurullah,38, helper Remon,25, Harun,30, Sobur,22, and Lokman,25.
Backed by Chhatra League and Jubo League workers, a faction led by Lalmonirhat District Sramik League convener Tapon Kazi attacked the other faction jointly led by Aminul and Bulbul, secretary of Lalmonirhat Mortor Sramik Union, police and witnesses said.
Transport workers also blocked the Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway from 12.30 pm to 4.0 pm.
Both the groups claimed each others to be non-workers of the transport union.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
