Janaza of army officers postponed
The namaz-e-janaza of the slain army officers, scheduled for 3:00pm yesterday, was postponed due to making arrangements of burial ceremony for all at a time as more bodies were being retrieved from new mass graves discovered at Pilkhana.
Two more mass graves of those massacred by mutinous BDR members have been discovered at Pilkhana from where more bodies of the army officers and their relatives were being recovered, said an ISPR release yesterday.
So, the scheduled janaza and their burials have been postponed to bury all the bodies with state honour at a time and the schedule will be announced later, it said.
Earlier on Friday the namaz-e-janaza of seven slain army officers was held at army central mosque in Dhaka Cantonment. But their burials scheduled for the last Friday at army graveyard at Banani was also postponed.
