Recession sends them home
In early signs of fallout from the global economic meltdown, Bangladeshi migrant workers have started returning home from abroad, battered by layoffs and forced vacations without pay.
The Daily Star correspondent was the first at Zia International Airport to speak to a number of workers who flew in from Dubai yesterday.
Workers from Malaysia and Saudi Arabia are also on the list of returnees.
