Boucher due on Saturday
US Assistant Secretary of the State for South and Central Asian Affairs Richard A Boucher will arrive in Dhaka Saturday on a two-day visit to consult with the newly elected government on a broad range of regional and bilateral issues.
During his visit he will meet with prime minister, government officials, members of he parliament, business people, and members of the civil society, says a press release of the US Embassy in Dhaka.
Diplomatic sources said he will also hold a series of meetings with foreign, finance, commerce and home ministers to discuss on Trade and Investment Framework Agreement and South Asian Anti-Terrorism Taskforce.
However, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Hasan Mahmud yesterday told reporters that the government not yet taken any decision regarding the TIFA with the United States and said any decision on the issue will be taken after discussion in cabinet meeting.
