Root out corruption thru' social movement
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury yesterday called upon all for wiping out corruption from society through mass movement.
He made the call while speaking at a discussion organised by the District Corruption Resistance Committee as chief guest at Zila Parishad auditorium with Prof Moffazal Hossain in the chair.
"As corruption will not go from society automatically, a social movement is a must to remove it", the ACC chairman said, adding that everyone should come forward to join the movement.
"As we are still in 10th position as a corrupt country in world rating, we shall have to establish a graft-free country by creating social awareness", he said.
Appreciating the activities of district and upazila level corruption resistance committees, Mashhud said, if people take a firm stand against corruption, it will gradually come down in the society.
