Scrapping of BTTB's privatisation agreement demanded
Leaders of Bangladesh T&T Sramik Karmachari Federal Union Saturday urged the government to scrap caretaker government decision of converting BTTB into a private limited company.
They want the government continued to run it as a profitable public organisation.
The demand was raised at a conference of the employees union held at TTC hall, attended by representatives from different units.
Abdul Matin Master, president of Jatiya Sramik League, labour front of the ruling Awami League, spoke as chief guest at the conference, chaired by union chief Mohammad Nurul Azad.
The speakers claimed that the decision of the caretaker government to make Bangladesh Telegraph & Telephone Board a private limited company was a conspiracy to destroy the institution.
They hoped the present government would review and scrap the decision of the caretaker government. They also demanded cancellation of transfer orders of officials and removal of the alleged supporters of BNP-Jamaat.
