SQ Chy made 'no election pledges' in life

BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury never pledged anything to the people who voted him lawmaker five times in Chittagong-7 and Chittagong-6 constituencies.
The former parliamentary affairs adviser to former premier Khaleda Zia also did not mention his educational qualification in the affidavit submitted with his nomination papers for Chittagong-2 and Chittagong-6 constituencies.
In section 7-kha (pledges and achievements) of the affidavit, where information on eight categories is mandatory, Salauddin said he was elected lawmaker five times but did not pledge anything to the voters. He wrote "NA" (not applicable) in the box meant for writing down achievements.
In section-1 of the affidavit, where information on educational qualification is required, Salauddin said he has no educational background and wrote "no" in the specified box.
Salauddin also provided questionable information about his earnings. He claimed he is the chairman of QC Holdings Ltd and director of QC Navigation Ltd, Focus Multimedia Company Ltd (which owned the now-closed CSB TV channel) and Mercury Air Ltd. His affidavit also said his annual income of only Tk 17 lakh is from salaries only, not from any profit from the businesses.
