2 get life for killing old man

A court in Chapainawabganj yesterday sentenced two people to death for killing an old man.
The convicts are Mokimul, 19, son of Eklasur Rahman, and his friend Ashraful Islam Babu,18, son of Ruhul Amin.
Both are the inhabitants of Shibnagar village under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj.
District and Sessions Judge Hrishikesh Saha handed down the verdict in a crowded courtroom.
According to the prosecution, Fazlur Rahman Meghu, 70, was sleeping in a room at his ice cream factory- cum- rice mills on January1, 2007.
His grand son Mokimul and his friend Babu stabbed him to death with sharp weapons at midnight and took away TK 1.5 lakh from his room.
Victim's son Zahurul Islam filed a case with Shibganj Police Station. On June 29, 2007 police submitted the charge sheet in the case.
After examining the prosecution witnesses and other relevant documents, the court handed down the verdict.
