UP chairman dismissed for power abuse

The Ministry of Local Government has dismissed Khorshedul Alam Pramanik, chairman of Chandipur Union Parishad in Sunderganj upazila on charge of misbehavior, autocracy and misuse of power.
Local UP members at a meeting held on Monday assigned the responsibility of chairman to senior U P member Haider Ali Sarker.
Frustrated UP members brought no-confidence motion against the dismissed chairman at a recent meeting through secret vote (10-3 votes). They sent the resolution to the concerned ministry for approval.
During investigation the allegations brought against the chairman was proved to be true.
