“Amar Bangladesh”: Highlighting views of the young
“Amar Bangladesh" is a new TV show that focuses on the youngsters -- their thoughts, attitude, priorities, aspirations and concerns. The programme goes on air today at 6:00 pm on Channel-i, says a press release.
Management and Resources Development Initiative (MRDI), with financial support of the British High Commission in Bangladesh and technical assistance of Green Planet Communications Ltd, has produced the second phase of this discussion programme after successful airing of its first phase last year.
This weekly programme has been designed on the basis of the findings of a research involving young people from different social sections. Eight different issues were placed for discussion in the initial episodes.
Professor Syed Munir Khasru anchors the show. Two panellists are present on each episode to facilitate the discussion.
The issues highlighted on the show are: family and friends; gender disparity; unemployment and career choices; democracy and politics; values of mainstream Bangladeshis and the young Bangladeshi Diaspora; culture, fashion and trends; youth and extremism and journey towards 2015.
The show will be aired every Saturday.
