Three shot, robbed of Tk 5.5 lakh
Miscreants shot three people, including two staff of Grameenphone, and snatched away Tk 5.5 lakh in three separate incidents in the city yesterday.
A gang of 5 to 6 muggers shot Mafuzur Rahman, 27, a sales representative of Grameenphone, at Cherag Ali in Tongi at around 12:00noon and made away with about Tk 3.5 lakh when he was about to get into a Joydevpur-bound vehicle.
Muggers shot at his right leg and chopped his right hand with machete.
Meanwhile, three muggers shot three rounds of bullet at the right leg of Ilias Hussain, 30, another Grameenphone staff, and snatched Tk 2 lakh from his possession at Jatrabari in the city.
In the other incident, three extortionists of Wasim group shot Nazrul Islam Khan, 52, manager of Motion Packaging, at around 1:00pm at Merul Badda when he refused to give them factory wastage and told them to talk to the owner of the factory.
He was shot at his right hand.
All the three injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
