Charge framed against BNP leader
A Sylhet court yesterday framed charges against Kanaighat upazila BNP leader Md Abdur Razzaque for illegal storing of 40,000-litre diesel.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Amir Uddin also rejected the discharge petition filed by Abdur Razzaque.
On May 21, police in a drive in presence of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tofayel Islam seized 175 barrels containing 40,000 litres of diesel from Razzaque Traders at Sarakerbazar in Kanaighat upazila.
The law enforcers filed a case under Special Powers Act against Abdur Razzaque, owner of the business firm, and its manager Iqbal Hossain Dulal. On investigation, police filed charge sheet against the accused persons for illegally storing the fuel.
