BCB polls on November 12
The election of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) under the new constitution will be held on November 12.
National Sports Council (NSC), the apex body of the country's sports, announced the schedule on Monday for the country's most affluent sports body's election.
The draft voter-list will be announce today and after objection and hearing the final list will be published on October 30 and the nomination papers will be distributed on November 2 from 10am to 4pm.
The nomination papers submission date is fixed for November 5 and the trial the following day. One can withdraw nomination paper on November 9 and the final list of the candidates will be put on the board on the following day.
According to the new constitution, the election will be held in three categories as 70 district and divisional councillors will elect 10 directors while 52 club councillors will cast their votes for 12 directors and 47 other councillors will take part in a ballot for one director. NSC will nominate the other director.
BCB councillors on October 7 approved the new constitution in the board's extraordinary general meeting (EGM) and as per new the charter there will be 25 directors instead of 31 members in the earlier constitution.
Of the twenty-five, the president would be either nominated or elected, according to the NSC Act.
