Cultural evening at Mymensingh Shilpakala

Marking the reunion of Mymensingh Association of Marketing and Sales (MAMS), a cultural evening was held at local Shilpakala auditorium recently. MAMS is a forum of officials and employees involved with marketing and sales in greater Mymensingh.
The reunion was held to coincide with the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr and Durga Puja, the greatest religious festivals of both the Muslims and the Hindus.
Eminent Baul artiste of the country Baul Sunil Karmakar and classical music artiste Ustad Anwar Hossain among others enthralled the audience with their mesmerising voices. A local band also performed on the occasion.
Over 150 representatives from 73 companies from Mymensingh region that includes Mymensingh, Sherpur, Tangail, Jamalpur, Netrokona and Kishoreganj districts attended the function. Earlier a discussion was held with MAMS president Tuhin Ahmed Chowdhury in the chair.
Among others, MAMS general secretary Mohammad Selim Miah, organising secretary, Mohammad Musleh Uddin; press secretary, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam; Sirajul Islam; Ferdous Alam and Moeen Ahmed Russel spoke on the occasion.
The speakers said that when people are afflicted by the ennui of marketing jobs, they should relish the rich traditional culture of the country. "A reunion brings us together to share our problems and to find out a proper remedy to resolve the glitches," concluded the speakers.
