<i>A day with a difference for children</i>
With a call for a safe, secured and joyful childhood, Bangladesh Shishu Academy celebrated the Prarombhik Shaishab Day (Early Childhood Day) on its premises in the city yesterday.
As part of the programme to celebrate the day, some 500 children from its 16 centres of Early Learning for Child Development (ELCD) project gathered on the academy premises.
Film screening, cultural show, painting and rhymes competition were arranged for the children under six years at the academy auditorium.
Apart from a rally of pre-school children in the morning,
different sports and fun rides were also arranged for them.
The children were specially interested in puppet show. They had an interactive participation with the famous puppet character Gittu which was held at the academy auditorium.
Chairman of Bangladesh Shishu Academy Mushfeqa Iqfat was the chief guest at the programme attended by ELCD Project Director Nuruzzaman, academy Director Shaoli Shumon and Unicef Communication Officer Syed Milky.
