Chittagong ready to host NZ
All necessary preparation and security measures have been taken for arranging the 2nd one-day international and the first Test between Bangladesh and visiting New Zealand to be held at the Bir Sreshtha Ruhul Amin Stadium in Chittagong.
Chairman of the organising committee and Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Mohammed Maniruzzaman told this at a press conference held at CMP conference room yesterday afternoon.
Ten sub-committees have been formed to take care of smooth holding of matches and around 900 members of police, Rab and BDR would be deployed to ensure security, informed the organisers at the press conference.
Both the teams would be arriving here tomorrow for the ODI scheduled for October 12. The Test starts on October 17.
A total of 11,300 tickets including 7,500 for gallery, 1,400 for clubhouse, 1450 for special enclosure have been printed. The tickets will be available at every branches of AB Bank in the port city from today.
The price of the ODI tickets has been fixed at Tk 100 for gallery, Tk 300 for clubhouse and Tk 200 for special enclosure. Price of tickets for the Test match is Tk 50 for gallery, Tk 100 for clubhouse and Tk 150 for special enclosure.
Besides, two of the eleven special hospitality boxes would be sold at Tk 50,000 each, said the organisers.
It was learned that tight security will be maintained during the matches considering recent incidents of bomb blasts in different countries of the sub continent.
