Boy rescued seven hours after abduction in Ctg

The police rescued a four-year-old boy yesterday just seven hours after he was kidnapped from his home in Chittagong city.
They also arrested Hasan Iqbal, a relative of the victim, Shaheen, on suspicion of his involvement in the abduction. Shaheen's father is the officer-in-charge of Kasba Police Station in Brahmanbaria.
Sources said three or four unknown people kidnapped the boy from a rented flat at Halishahar J-block area, where the family of the OC resided, at around 9:30pm.
Only a domestic help was with the boy in the flat when the kidnappers came and rang the door bell.
Quoting the family members, the police said the kidnappers later made a phone call demanding Tk 5 lakh as ransom.
To rescue the boy, the police employed a tactics. According to their plan, the family members called the kidnappers and agreed to pay the ransom. The kidnappers then told them where they would receive the money.
As per the direction of the kidnappers, a team from Halishahar Police Station led by Assistant Commissioner Md Iltutmish went to the Jhankar Cinema Hall area at Nazirhat in Fatikchhari at around 4:30am yesterday.
But sensing the presence of law enforcers, the kidnappers fled the scene leaving behind the boy in front of a mosque near Jhankar Cinema.
