Muggers take away Tk 6.2 lakh from two traders

Muggers took away Tk 6.2 lakh from two traders at Sutrapur and Kotwali in the city within a span of eight hours.
Sutrapur police said a gang of three riding two motorbikes intercepted the private car of Murad Hossain, a cement trader, at Gandaria Sadhana lane under Sutrapur Police Station at around 10:00pm on Thursday. Murad was returning home from his shop at Shyampur.
The muggers fired at the car and took away Tk 5.40 lakh from Murad. He sustained injuries as the broken glass of the car pierced his leg.
In another incident, a gang of three blasted bombs and snatched Tk 80 thousand from Masud, a currency trader, at Siddique Bazar under Katwali Police Station at 6:00am yesterday.
Meanwhile, police rescued a cloth trader with bullet injury to his throat early yesterday.
DMCH sources said muggers attacked him in front of his residence at Siddique Bazar when he was going to Gulistan.
Meantime, government employee Abul Hossen sustained bullet injury to his abdomen as some unidentified miscreants shot him in front of his residence at Mohakhali Amtoli area at 8:30pm yesterday.
