Hasina positive about meet with Khaleda
Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina has shown positive attitude on the much-talked-about proposed meeting with her political rival BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, barrister Rafique-ul-Huq, who defend both the former premiers in the court, said.
He said he is hopeful about the meeting between the two political leaders.
Talking to private television Channel i, the eminent lawyer who is now in Singapore said he had spoken to Hasina over phone and that she would make a final decision in this regard after consulting with her party leaders upon her return to the country.
Meanwhile, AL acting President Zillur Rahman yesterday told reporters that Hasina might return on October 7 or 8.
Earlier on Tuesday, barrister Rafique phoned Khaleda who also gave a positive nod about the meeting.
On September 9, he said Hasina and Khaleda should sit together in the interest of the country and democracy.
On September 14, caretaker government advisers Hossain Zillur Rahman and AF Hassan Ariff called barrister Rafique over phone and requested him to take an initiative to bring the two politicians to a discussion table.
