CA flies to China today

Chief Adviser (CA) Fakhruddin Ahmed leaves for Beijing tonight on a four-day official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao.
CA's wife Neena Ahmed is accompanying him on the tour.
The head of the caretaker government will hold official talks with Chinese Prime Minister Jiabao at the Great Hall of the People on Tuesday.
He will call on Chinese President Hu Jintao at the Great Hall of the People on Tuesday and also have a tête-à-tête with Vice-president Xi Jinping at the State Guesthouse.
The CA will attend the closing ceremony of Paralympics Beijing 2008 at the Bird's Nest on Wednesday. Paralympics are Olympic-style games for the physically challenged athletes.
The other members of the chief adviser's entourage include Foreign Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, Foreign Secretary M Touhid Hossain, Secretary of the CA's Office Kazi M Aminul Islam and CA's Press Secretary Syed Fahim Munaim.
It is expected that the CA's trip would further strengthen the strong and cordial friendship between Bangladesh and China and boost trade and investment between the two countries.
The CA is scheduled to return home late Thursday night.
In a statement yesterday, Foreign Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury said road link with China through Myanmar is likely to come up for discussion during the chief adviser's visit to China.
“Both of our countries are eager to develop physical connectivity through air and road links. We'll discuss the possibility of a road link through Myanmar. Defence is another area where we have continuing cooperation, and the visit will also give this a boost,” he said.
Iftekhar said the visit will be a significant milestone in bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
