'Ban Shibir on BAU campus'

Leaders of Pragatisheel Chhatra Jote of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) unit yesterday demanded a ban on the politics of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) on BAU campus.
Earlier on Wednesday, ICS cadres beat up a Chhatra Union activist.
Leaders of the platform said that ICS and its activities should be banned to uphold the image of BAU.
They held a rally and took out a procession that paraded different streets on the campus.
Acting President of Chhatra Union BAU unit Shakti Chandra Mondol, Dulal Roy and Masud Rana, president and secretary general of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front, also spoke on the occasion.
They also demanded that the BAU authorities bear all the expenses for treating Md Shamim Miah, the Chhatra Union activist who was injured in the attack by Shibir cadres.
The platform leaders also demanded punishment to the people responsible behind the attack.
