Killing of man while trying to save girl from kidnappers condemned

Leaders of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP) yesterday expressed grave concern over the death of a man who was killed while trying to save a girl from kidnappers.
They also demanded exemplary punishment to the culprits, says a press release.
On Friday some local hooligans attacked Barik Khan, who obstructed them while they were trying to abduct a schoolgirl at Mangalpur village under Lohagara upazila in Narail, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to a local health complex and later shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
In a statement BMP demanded the government and the authorities concerned ensure security of the girl and her family and provide them with legal support.
