People of Satarpara in Daulatpur upazila held two gangsters with arms and handed them over to police on Saturday evening.
Touhidul Islam, 32, and Liton, 30, known as cadres of gang group Lal Chad Bahini, got locked in an altercation with a banana shopkeeper at the village at about 6:30pm, police said.
As Touhidul opened a firearm and tried to fire at the shopkeeper, locals rushed in, caught the two youths, beat them up and handed them over to Daulatpur police.
They hail from Charpara village in the upazila.
