Trade fair for women entrepreneurs begins Sunday
In a bid to identify and promote women entrepreneurs of the country and provide them with local and regional networking support, a six-day trade fair of women entrepreneurs will begin on Sunday in Dhaka.
Women entrepreneurs from six countries -- Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and China -- will participate in the show through 73 stalls at National Shooting Federation Complex in Gulshan.
Pakistan high commission in Dhaka is organising the fair styled '5th Women Entrepreneurs Trade Expo', sponsored by Bank Alfalah Ltd, said Zulfiqar Younas, commercial counselor of Pakistan High Commission, at a press conference in the capital yesterday.
"We are organising the show with a wide range of high quality products to add variety to Eid shopping," he added.
The fair will showcase items including fabrics, garments for children, men and women, footwear, bangles, gems, jewellery, ladies bags, carpets, spices and food items.
Brac, SME Foundation, and women entrepreneurs of Bangladesh, India and Pakistan are also supporting the show, which will remain open from 10am to 8pm.
