Arrest warrant against Jubo Dal leader in Satkhira

Satkhira Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court yesterday issued an arrest warrant against Jubo Dal leader Modasserul Haque Huda, also chairman of Dhulihar Union Parishad (UP), an accused in Azibar Rahman murder case, for his failure to appear before court, court sources said.
Huda was asked to appear before court after Azibar 's widow Mariam Begum lodged a complaint with the court against him for threatening her to withdraw the case or 'face the dire consequences.' As he did not appear before court, the warrant was issued against him.
Huda allegedly abducted Azibar, Kashem, Khokon and Hasan from their houses at Matiadanga village in Sadar upazila and tortured them at a shrimp enclosure at Khariadanga leaving Azibar, son of Oli Ahmed Sardar dead on January 5 last year.
Mariam filed the murder case with Sadar Police Station on January 26. Sadar circle assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Deen Mohammad submitted charge sheets against Dhulihar UP chairman Modasserul Haque Huda, UP member Amin uddin, Biswa Nath Dhali, Bikram Gain, Indrajit Gain, Nikhil Gain, Raghu Nath Gain, Prabir Gain and Dipak Kumar of Khariadanga village in Sadar upazila. Now all but Huda are on bail.
