Bangladesh Chhatra Federation demonstrated on the Dhaka University campus yesterday protesting price hike of essentials, says a press release.
In the rally, Federation leaders said that prices of essentials are increasing every day but not the income of mass people. So their buying capacity is decreasing, they added.
According to World Health Organisation, several lakhs will go below poverty line this year due to the price hike, they also said.
President of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front Fakhruddin Kabir Atik presided over the rally while President of Bangladesh Chhatra Union Khan Asaduzzaman Masum and Organizational Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra Federation DU unit Morshed Jahan Mithun spoke.
