Bata eyes 30pc rise in sales
Bata, the country's leading shoemaker and retailer, plans to increase its sales by 30 percent in 2008, said the chief financial officer (CFO) of the company yesterday.
“Last year the sales of Bata was around Tk 500 crore and it will increase by more than 30 percent this year,” said Cesar Panduro, CFO of Bata Bangladesh.
“We are going to introduce new machines and technologies at our local factories by the end of this year to improve our production capacity and quality,” he said.
He was speaking at a press meet to launch 350 new designs of Bata shoes in the capital.
The overall market size of footwear in the country is around Tk 1700 crore per year.
