Joint forces deployed at DGHS office to probe irregularities
A team of joint forces yesterday took its position at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) office to investigate the issues of corruption and irregularities of the directorate.
The team, comprising members from army, police, NBR and Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), held a meeting with Director General of DGHS Prof Muhammad Abul Faiz and high officials.
The team, led by Lt Col Sultanuzzaman Mohammad Salehuddin, will investigate the irregularities of recruitment, posting and promotion-related issues that they have already received and will place reports and recommendations to the ministry.
The joint forces that have taken position on the 2nd floor of the DGHS office aims at boosting up the activities of the office and to investigate the administrative corruption, DGHS sources said.
The members of the team would ask for any file from the directorate officials anytime if necessary and would place the reports and recommendations of the office directly to the higher authorities, said one of the high officials of the directorate.
They have already enforced restrictions on the officials going outside during the office hour and entering the outsiders and visitors into the office.
Acknowledging the fact, the DG said he does not know how long the team would stay in the office, adding that they have come to assist the office and would go as soon as their investigation completes.
