Torture of a three-year-old elephant to tame and make it work in Moulvibazar forests has drawn attention of many people in the area.
Its mother has been kept confined so that she does not turn crazy to see her child's plight.
After being trained by experts for three months, the child elephant named 'Fulmala' will work with other elephants in the forest, said its owner Shahabuddin Ahmed Lemon, chairman of Goalbari union parishad under Juri upazila in Moulvibazar district.
Over one hundred trained elephants are engaged in transporting trees and plants from forest and hilly areas to plain land in Moulvibazar district.
