Tigers take on Aussies in first ODI today
Bangladesh cricket team take on world champions Australia in the first one-day international of a three-match series at the TOI Stadium in Darwin today.
The match will be telecast live on Star Cricket from 6:00am.
The Tigers have been in the northern Australian city for almost two weeks and played five warm-up games of which they won two, including a 120-run win over Northern Territory Chief Minister's XI.
Among the batsmen, skipper Mohammad Ashraful, Alok Kapali, Tamim Iqbal and Mehrab Hossain have shown good form but the bowling has struggled on batsman-friendly wickets.
But according to the captain, the wicket at the TOI ground will be tough to bat on as the wicket skids a bit.
For the hosts though, it's a tricky affair as some of their biggest names have been ruled out due to injury.
Ricky Ponting (wrist) and Matthew Hayden (heel) are missing from the top order, while Brett Lee is sitting out of this series due to his personal issues.
Only Michael Hussey and Michael Clarke remain from the side that lost to Bangladesh in 2005.
Of thirteen ODIs between the two sides, Bangladesh have one that famous game in Cardiff.
