5 hurt as tablet compression machine blasts at lab

At least five workers were injured as a tablet compression machine exploded at Chemico Laboratories Limited at Sagorpara in Rajshahi on Thursday, police and witnesses said.
Golap Sarker, 28, Saidur Rahman, 35, Shahida, 32, Koli, 18, and Masuda, 32, were injured while they were cleaning the machine, sources said. Pieces of glass spread all over injuring them. They were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital immediately after the incident.
However, factory supervisor Nurul Islam said the accident occurred following electric short circuit. The actual reason of the explosion is yet to be known.
