Ericsson project attracts educationists

'Alokito Bangladesh', a 3G/HSPA pilot project initiated by Ericsson Bangladesh Limited, has attracted a large number of teachers and students of different universities, according to a press release.
The project aims to showcase methods to improve productivity and quality of life with the use of high-speed internet services.
A delegation of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) led by Professor Satya Prasad Majumder of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department visited the pilot project along with some faculty members.
The Buet team praised the role of Ericsson for pioneering the project, saying that such initiatives would help technical students to learn more about new technologies.
A group of students and teachers of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), led by Mohammad Tawhid Kawser, assistant professor of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of IUT also visited the demonstration.
A delegation of Computer Science and Engineering Department of Dhaka University led by Prof Dr Md Haider Ali also visited the pilot project of Ericsson.
Dr Ali underscored the need for collaboration between different technology provides and educational institutions for advance technology education, which could be a win-win situation for both the equipment manufacturers and educational institutions.
Ericsson Bangladesh Ltd, a leading telecommunication solution provider, employs a good number of graduates from different universities of the country every year.
Ericsson is one of the world's leading providers of technology and services to telecom operators.
