4 killed in road accidents

Four people were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Dhaka, Rajshahi and Satkhira in the last two days.
Our staff correspondent in Dhaka reports: Two people were killed and four others injured when a truck turned turtle on Airport Road in the city yesterday morning.
The victims were identified as Sujan, 30, and Sagar, 38, while the identity of the injured could be known immediately. They all were truck labourers.
Police said at around 6:30am, a Mohakhali-bound glass-laden truck from Tongi turned turtle after hitting the pavement near Kawla Bus Stand, leaving the six truck labourers injured.
On information, police rushed the injured to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where on duty doctors declared two of them dead and four others were admitted to DMCH.
Our RU correspondent adds: A teenage girl was killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in Rajshahi Bus Terminal area yesterday.
The victim was identified as Khaleda Akter alias Urmila, 16, daughter of Khalilur Rahman of village Kamar in Dinajpur.
Police sources said Urmila was a domestic help at a residence in Shiroil Residential Area.
The accident occurred at about 6:30am when a passenger bus crushed her under its wheels while she was crossing the road.
Police recovered the body and sent it to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) for autopsy.
Our correspondent in Satkhira adds: A helper of a pickup was killed in a road accident on Satkhira-Khulna highway near Mirzapur Bazar at Tala upazila on Monday night.
The victim was identified as Saiful Islam, 23, son of Shah Jahan of Kushtia district.
The accident occurred at about 10:00pm when the Satkhira-bound pickup from Khulna skidded off and fell into a roadside ditch as the driver lost control.
