Quality, Regency split points
Quality Sports Club and Regency Sports Club shared points in a goalless draw in the ANZ Properties Premier Division Football League here yesterday at the MA Aziz Stadium.
The other match of the day between Agrabad Naujoan Club and Shatadal Club was abandoned ten minute from time due to insufficient light. The match will be played afresh later on.
Quality and Regency put on a lacklustre show throughout the proceedings, failing to create any effective attack.
Only an attempt by Regency's Babu at the fag end came close to break the deadlock when he headed a freekick by Mannan from the right wing only to see Quality goalkeeper Ratan fisting away the ball.
Two to three hundred fans enjoyed the match of the league, which kicked off on August 23 after a break of two years. The Impulse Properties First Division Football League was also inaugurated on the same day.
Naujoan and Shatadal were forced to play the match virtually in complete darkness for the last few minutes until referee called it off at 6.20 pm. The match was scheduled to continue till 6.30 pm.
Today's matches: (1st division): Brothers Union v Railway Rangers (2 pm) and Bakalia Krira Sangstha v Muktijoddha Krira Chakra (3.45 pm).
