Elephant tramples one to death in Bandarban

A man was trampled to death and two others were injured by a wild elephant at Headmanpara in Lama upazila early yesterday.
Witnesses said a wild elephant, separated from the herd, swooped on the house of Rashed Miah in the early morning and trampled him to death while he was fleeing out of fear.
The elephant also damaged some adjoining houses and injured Mofizur and Nasima of the area.
A BDR team visited the spot.
Meanwhile, Kulsuma, an eight-year old girl, was killed in elephant attack at Kombania in Naikhangchhari upazila on Friday.
At least seven people were killed and 20 others injured in elephant attack in Lama and Naikhangchhari upazilas in the last month.
