Bangladesh Volleyball Federation will organise a training camp prior to forming the national youth volleyball team that begins at the Mirpur Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium from today.
Thirty spikers will undergo training at the camp. Later, 18 players will be selected for the final training.
National volleyball team coach Shamim Al Mamun will conduct the camp as the head coach with Shah Mohammad Jahangir Alam acting as his assistant.
The federation president Golam Quddus Chowdhury will formally inaugurate the camp as chief guest today.

Sohel scored seven goals as Swadhinata KS crush Dhaka Eleven 8-0 in a second phase match of the Dhaka City Corporation Pioneer Football League at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Stadium at Kamalapur yesterday.
Apart from Sohel's strikes, Shakil netted the other goal for the winners.
In the day's other match, Lalbagh Tarun Sangha defeated Golam Mostafa Lane Kishore Sangha 3-1 at the same venue.
Nizam, Ziku and Amin scored for the winners, while Kayes netted for Golam Mostafa Lane.
In today's matches, Arambagh Junior face Noakhali Football Academy and Tangail Football Academy are up against Mir Hajir Bagh.
TABLE TENNIS CAMP
Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation will hold a month-long camp to groom Under-22 players from today.
Thirty-four players of which 13 are female will take part in the camp.
The federation earlier selected these players for training considering their performance in the recently concluded 29th National Table Tennis Championship.
They will bear the expenses of food, accommodation and transport for the participants coming from outside.
The training camp, sponsored by AB Bank Limited, will be held at the NSC Wooden Floor Gymna-sium under the supervision of International Table Tennis Federation coach Arif Khan.
National Sports Council (NSC) table tennis coach Hafizur Rahman will assist Arif Khan.
AB Bank president and managing director Kaiser A Chowdhury will formally inaugurate the camp as chief guest on Saturday.
UNIVERSITY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Prime Asia thumped London College Legal Studies 6-0 while United International University got the better of Presidency University with the odd goal in three during the University Champions League at the Banani Chairmanbari ground yesterday.
While Prime Asia steamrollered their opponents, UIU had to depend on goals from Arnab and Sabbir to see off a strike by Presidency's Shahjalal to record their victory.
The tournament, known as UCT 08, brings together 12 private universities from across the country to play in a league-cum-knockout round format.
The tournament is organised by The Source and sponsored by Pran and the daily Prothom Alo.
RUGBY REFEREE PROGRAMME
UNB adds: The first-ever rugby referee training program began at the Outer Stadium.
A total of 35 trainees are taking part in the program.
National Sports Council (NSC) secretary Muhammad Akbar Hussain formally inaugurated the two-day program as chief guest.
Rugby Association president Khondaker Jamiluddin and general secretary Mousum Ali and Bangladesh Sports Writers Association (BSWA) president Sarwar Hossain were present.
