Konkona Sen gets engaged
Ranbir Shorey and Konkona Sen Sharma
Bollywood is set to see another celebrity couple -- actress Konkona Sen Sharma and actor Ranbir Shorey.
Konkona, the national award-winning actress (for her role in "Mr and Mrs Iyer" directed by her mother Aparna Sen), got engaged to Ranbir, Aparna was quoted by newspapers.
"I'm happy for them, though nothing has been finalised about the wedding," Aparna Sen, who was here recently in connection with a film festival, said.
Konkona and Ranbir have featured in the films "Mixed Doubles" and "Traffic Signal". They are also going to appear in Mira Nair's movie "How Can It Be".
Meanwhile, Aparna Sen is busy completing her next film "The Japanese Wife" featuring Rahul Bose, Raima Sen and Japanese actress Chigasu Takaku.
The senior Sen is also going to direct another film "Jewel Box", based on a novel by eminent Bengali author Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, which will star Sharmila Tagore, her daughter Soha Ali Khan, Konkona and Bollywood actor Govinda.
After a long hiatus, Aparna Sen will be back as an actress in Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury's "Antoheen" in which her real-life husband Kalyan Roy will appear as her reel-life spouse.
Call her an indulgent mother or a modest artiste, Aparna Sen thinks Konkona is a much better actress than her.
