Indigenous song from Citycell commercial becomes popular

Sugoto Chakma (right) was recently visited by Mohammad Monir Hossein Sikder, Citycell's Manager for Brand and Communication Strategy at the Upojatiya Sanskritik Institute in Rangamati, says a press release.
Sugoto Chakma, director of the institute, is the lyricist of the song featured in the recent Citycell TV commercial on the extension of network in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT). The commercial, now also aired on radio, has attained much popularity, particularly in the Hill Tracts.
On behalf of Citycell, Sikder appreciated Chakma's contribution and gave him a complimentary handset with Citycell connection. Joseph Mir, art director of Interspeed Advertising Ltd, was also present on the occasion.
A cultural activist, Sugoto Chakma is working for the development of indigenous arts and cultures for a long time. He believes that good understanding and proper exposure of the indigenous cultures can enrich the mainstream Bangladeshi culture, and initiatives should be taken from all quarters.
