A solo performance by Falguni Hamid, of theatre group Natyachakra, followed the discussion. Hamid performed excerpts from Neelima Ibrahim's most celebrated publication “Ami Birangana Bolchhi”.
Paying homage to the creative writer, brilliant teacher and a pioneer among social reformers on gender equality and women's empowerment; Natyachakra presented their 50th production under the title “It's me, Birangana”.
Amidst pin-drop silence in the auditorium, the performance rolled on. At a point, the audience was seemingly on the verge of tears as the actress narrated the inhuman abuse and bondage of the Bengali women by the Pakistani army and their collaborators. As the play came to an end the audience gave a standing ovation to the actress whose performance addressed about 250,000 Biranganas who bore the brunt throughout the Liberation War.
