390 judicial magistrates appointed
The government has appointed 390 assistant judges/judicial magistrates in courts across the country following the separation of the judiciary.
Law, justice and parliamentary affairs ministry has given postings of the judicial magistrates to different districts through a notification and asked them to join their duties by May 22.
The newly appointed judicial magistrates will be given training on court proceedings under supervision of the district judges for seven days from the date of joining, an official announcement said yesterday.
“Their jobs will be confirmed after completion of two-year probationary period through taking necessary training and passing departmental examinations,” it said.
As per recommendation of the Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission and on advice of the Supreme Court, the 390 assistant judges/judicial magistrates were placed under the 9th grade of the national pay scale on March 20.
