SCF team meets EC today
Sector Commanders' Forum (SCF) will hold talks with the Election Commission (EC) today and place their demand for banning the war criminals and anti-liberation forces from contesting in the general election.
Air Vice Marshal (retd) AK Khandker, the president of the body, will lead the delegation.
Several political parties including Awami League and left leaning parties who had earlier talked with EC, demanded EC not to allow war criminals and anti-liberation war elements to take part in the election and not to register with the EC.
SCF, a platform of the commanders who led the country's Liberation War, will demand that the Election Commission (EC) does not allow political parties that opposed the independence war or were involved in war crimes to register for the upcoming polls.
AK Khandker, deputy chief of the Independence War, earlier told The Daily Star that they would hold talks with the CEC and other election commissioners to press their demand.
