CPB demands adequate paddy purchasing centres
Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) yesterday demanded adequate paddy purchasing centres at villages, employment schemes and, planned and corruption-free money for work programme, says a press release.
The demands were made at a meeting of political wing of the party held at the party office yesterday.
CPB Acting President Shahidullah Chowdhury chaired the meeting.
The meeting urged the CPB leaders and activists to provide all-out cooperation to the farmers and to stand beside them to ensure fair price of their crops.
The meeting also said fair price of agricultural product, subsidised seeds and fertiliser and diesel have to be ensured to encourage agricultural production.
CPB leaders urged the government for launching rationing and 'mass-distribution' system to provide rice at a cheaper rate to the poor people.
